With You (2022)

The fragmented self as a site of reconstruction: this series explores the possibilities of reconciliation between the internal world, memory, and the contradictions of the maternal body. These paintings examine the essential dichotomies of the human condition—navigating the fluid boundaries between consciousness and the unconscious, construction and destruction, and the raw presentation of emotion.

Through the mercurial nature of watercolour, I pass beyond the conscious self to find imageries that form a ‘chaotic clump‘，a fusing of associations aimed at healing the child self. Each work captures an intense impulse, creating a conceptual movement that grapples with the transitioning imageries of a shifting personal identity and a flood of memory.
